Fire Extinguisher Technician — Medicine Hat

KOST FIRE AND SAFETY an industry leader serving Southern Alberta and Alberta’s Gas & Oil Industry for over 65 years is currently hiring a Fire Extinguisher Technician for its location in Medicine Hat.

Main scope of work includes and not limited to:

  • Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices
  • Dismantle and examine extinguisher parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means. Replace worn or damaged parts
  • Hydro-test Low & high-pressure cylinders
  • Clean and recharge extinguishers with approved materials
  • Assist in fire safety inspection
  • Working conditions may include restricted movement, dusty conditions (protection gears provided), lifting or carrying of heavy objects
  • Meet, Greet, and assist customers with their inquiries on fire and safety equipment, services and sales

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a current, clean drivers abstract.
  • Able to travel and overnight if required.
  • Skills in inspection, repair, maintenance and testing fire safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment and products
  • Ability to work with small tools and ability to lift 55lbs
  • Ability to work independently
  • Competent computer skills
  • Sales, retails, and customer service experience is an asset
  • Kitchen fire suppression, fire Sprinkler, fire alarm, or smoke detectors experience is an asset
  • Fire extinguisher maintenance and high-pressure hydro testing experience is an asset.
  • 1-year industry experience is an asset

GAS DETECTION TECHNICIAN — Medicine Hat

KOST FIRE AND SAFETY an industry leader serving Southern Alberta and Alberta’s Gas & Oil Industry for over 65 years is currently hiring a Gas Detection Technician for its location in Medicine Hat.

Main scope of work includes and not limited to:

  • Sales, installation and service all types of portable and fixed gas detection equipment.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating gas detection equipment.
  • Use of basic Instrumentation Test Equipment & should be able to complete calibrations.
  • Able to work on or with more advanced meter(s) checking for continuity, resistance, voltages & current readings.
  • Providing customer with necessary training and instructions.
  • Onsite and remote technical support to field technicians.
  • Manage and maintain the rental equipment fleet.
  • Ensure integrity of equipment inventory.

Position Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service
  • Able to work in a team environment and take direction
  • Provide a positive work ethic and demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and be able to provide a current, clean drivers abstract
  • Travel occasionally and overnight stay when needed
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Apply computer skills and have diverse experience in Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Abide with all safety codes and Industrial Health & Safety standards
  • Strong knowledge and diverse experience in gas detection and safety equipment.
  • Broad experience and knowledge in Personal Protection Equipment PPE, Fire Safety Equipment, Fall Protection is an asset
  • Knowledge of Gas and Gas Detection, LEL Detection and Fire Detection controllers and sensors.
  • Sales and customer service experience is an asset

Kost Fire Safety is a leading retail and service provider in fire and safety, serving southern Alberta for over 60 years, seeking a Customer Service Representative (Part-Time) to join our team in Taber.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in day to day store operation

• Assist and accommodate walk-in and on-phone customers

• Inventory counting, Ordering, and restocking

• Promote and execute sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers

• Other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Sales experience is an asset

KOST FIRE AND SAFETY an industry leader serving Southern Alberta and Alberta’s Gas & Oil Industry for over 65 years is currently hiring an Outside Sales Representative to partner with management to develop and implement a sales and marketing plan to meet business objectives and to grow and expand a customer base.  Work collaboratively with store managers, sales associates, and service teams for achieving revenue goals and customer satisfaction while taking full charge of all sales activities .

 Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate technical sales skills and product knowledge in all areas of the business
  • Responsible for sourcing and developing new customers in current and new industries
  • Maintaining and building upon business relationships with existing customers,
  • Develop strategies, action plans and proposals to engage new and existing customers ensuring competitive pricing while maximizing profitability
  • Work collaboratively with head office and branch managers to develop and execute a sales plan that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Support management and branches on day to day operation when needed.
  • Monitor market tends as well as customer and competitor activities
  • Build and expand an outside sales force to cover all of southern Alberta
  • Provide management with full activity reports on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years outside sales experience in related field
  • Self-starter with track record for growing sales and customer base
  • Strong Knowledge of industrial Fire and Safety equipment (gas monitors, breathing apparatus, fall protection, fire protection and fire suppression equipment, personal protection equipment PPE….)
  • Team player, Computer and Microsoft Office literate,
  • Valid driver License and clean driver abstract.
